When Aaron Perry-Zucker sent out an open call for posters inspired by Obama’s presidential campaign to post on DesignforObama.org, he didn’t expect the windfall of high quality art that arrived from around the world. Launched in November 2009, “Design for Obama” is a commemorative poster book highlighting over 200 of the finest posters that supported America’s first black President. Co-edited by director Spike Lee, the book portrays the excitement, energy and hope of the time through the strength of its images.
Here are a couple of images that will be appearing in the upcoming book.

This wonderful book is indeed both a important testament to & a beautiful celebration of Obama’s momentous election. Showcasing art by artists from all over the globe, “Design For Obama” is literally & figuratively a work of art in & of itself. Taschen really did an exquisite job on the printing, the coloring, the paper-stock, the layout, et al. The heft of the book is only surpassed by its beauty.
(& I write this not only as an artist whose great honor it is to have some work in the book (“Man of Hope”, page 49, & “Baby Got Hope” on 85), but as a connoisseur of fine art books as well.)
If you would like to read about the book signing party which was a fabulous shindig & a great opportunity to meet the authors as well as many other artists involved, please visit “very secret monster things”
Have you ever considered adding more videos to your blog posts to keep the readers more entertained? I mean I just read through the entire article of yours and it was quite good but since I’m more of a visual learner,I found that to be more helpful well let me know how it turns out. This is good…thanks for sharing
Again, can someone remind me why this is the “change” president we’ve been waiting for?
