Meet the car that thinks it’s a speedboat.
The Python Water Car is the fastest amphibious vehicle ever sold – its makers claim it can hit 60mph on the water. And it is just as fast on roads – going from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. At the flick of a switch the driver can put the gears into neutral, put on the jet drive and then raise the wheels with a push of a button then hit the waves for some fast cruising.
The Python seats five-seat and weights about 3,800lbs. It’s powered by a V8 engine from a Chevrolet Corvette. The created of the car is Dave March of California-based firm WaterCar. He said he specifically designed the Python to be twice the speed of rivals.
He said: “I wasn’t interested in previous amphibious vehicles that just floated around. “I was interested in designing a high-performance car that could plane, to reach freeway speeds on water.”
The car is available to purchase at the low price of $200,000 USD
