The show won’t go on for Lady Gaga and Kanye West!

It’s been announced that Judy Jetson and Taylor Swift’s tormenter won’t be hitting the road together on their hyped Fame Kills tour. No reason for the last-minute cancelation was given, but there are already plenty of theories.

1. Ticket Prices: At a time when money is tight for most folks, dropping $150 for a general admission ticket for Kanye and Gaga seems pretty obscene. It’s not like it’s Madonna or U2. You’re essentially paying to see a hot newcomer and a hothead. Bottom line: $150 — or $500 for VIP seats — is a lot to pay for that combo.

2. The Taylor Effect: Speaking of hotheads, Kanye lost appeal in many people’s eyes after he stole the country star’s moment at the Video Music Awards earlier this month. When Taylor won for Female Music Video, he climbed the stage, took the mic from her and told the audience that he thought his friend Beyonce deserved to win instead. With a long history of similar antics, people seem to be fed up with his bullying — including, presumably, some of his fans.

3. Kanye’s Rehab-Bound: As Star reported in the Oct. 5 issue, Kanye — who was openly boozing it up at the VMAs — is looking at entering a rehab, possibly Passages in Malibu or Crossroads in Antigua. According to those close to the rapper, alcohol has been a coping mechanism since his mother’s death in 2007 and the backlash following the VMA disaster made him realize he needs help for his problem.

4. Meow! Kanye & Gaga Just Didn’t Get Along: The last — and perhaps best — theory is that these two big personalities just didn’t mesh. Laurieann Gibson — the Making the Band star who was doing Gaga’s choreography for the tour — Twittered that Fame Kills was canceled over “creative differences.” There are also rumors that Gaga started to think twice about working with Kanye after the Taylor incident.

Despite the cancelation, Gaga is going to strike out on her own. Earlier today at the Billboard Women in Music Event, she said, “Kanye’s going to take some time off. But the good news is that I’m going on tour in a few weeks.”

Soul legend Chaka Khan, pop singer Lady GaGa and actress Whoopi Goldberg were among stars to entertain Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at the Royal Variety Performance. Wearing a red PVC outfit and playing a piano suspended on giant stilts, Lady GaGa put in a relatively conservative performance, perhaps toning down her normally controversial style for the monarch, at Blackpool’s Opera House. Some 1,000 people gathered outside the theatre for a glimpse of the queen and Duke of Edinburgh as they arrived for the gala evening, held for charity. Dance troupe Diversity, who won the right to perform as winners of the “Britain’s Got Talent” TV show, wowed the crowd with a frenetic routine. – Phil
