Kanye says sorry…… Sort of.
I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! …………………… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!…………….. BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I’M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!! NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN’ THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE … WELL YOU KNOW!!!! I’M STILL HAPPY FOR TAYLOR!!!! BOOOYAAAWWWW!!!! YOU ARE VERY VERY TALENTED!!! I GAVE MY AWARDS TO OUTKAST WHEN THEY DESERVED IT OVER ME… THAT’S WHAT IT IS!!!!!!! I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!
The above was then pulled from his blog later this morning and he re-issued an even more ridiculous statment.
I feel like Ben Stiller in “Meet the Parents” when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave… That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry
Kanye may say sorry but deep down we all know he isn’t. Clearly in the first apologise he says sorry but at the same time trying to explain his actions like “I gave my awards to outkast when they deserved it over me.”
Kanye believes award shows are fixed and doesn’t believe they are actually giving awards out to people who deserve them. Now I can somewhat agree with kanye on the part that award shows are sometimes bullshit. I don’t think everyone who wins deserves them either, BUT there is a time and place for everything.

I admit I didn’t watch the whole thing – didn’t even watch half of it, so I have to qualify my opinion with “Based on what I saw…”
Taken as a commentary on, or reflection of the state of our current popular culture, I told feel very good about our pop culture. In fact, I’d been downright depressed about it (how it influences the younger generations and, hence, the future) save for 2 things.
First, my father was saying the same thing in the 1960′s. I’m not saying he didn’t have a point – maybe continuously pushing the envelope has been slowly, inconspicuously leading us, as a society, in a less than desirable direction. On the other hand, maybe it’s just a generational thing and every young generation needs it’s day testing the boundaries (I realize that the likes of Madonna and many of the others aren’t all that young anymore, but when it comes to pop culture, it is the age of the audience being influenced that counts).
And second, maybe I need to temper my bigger view with a more narrow perspective – this was only one event and it was only a certain number of attention seeking, self-absorbed egos who really made the whole thing look bad. Maybe we need to recognize that every generation has had it’s share of those types of individuals and move on – look harder for the positive examples instead.
But then again, there is the cynical approach which says that these people are making way too much money for what they contribute to the betterment of society and do we really need to spend a few hours watching them pat themselves on the back (or dis one another, as in KW’s example)?
Taylor is wonderful,,,kw is waste. What an immature, rude egotistical punk. His thoughts are more important than those making the award decisions?? NOT! I wonder how he would have reacted if some no-one took away his once in a lifetime moment? His half a**ed apologies mean nothing. He knew what he was doing. Beyonce was very, very kind to give her time to Taylor,,,but really, that true emotional moment had passed for Taylor. Did Beyonce say “oh my god,,not yet, when it was happening? What did “not yet” mean? Right on to Pink, Katy and other TRUE music stars!!!! Taylor you deserved that award,,GREAT video
Kanye is a disgusting example of a human being. He deserves every bad word that is being said about him. He is a spotlight-stealing, self-absorbed prick. I’m with Katy Perry on this one (per her tweet): “F— U KANYE. ITS LIKE YOU STEPPED ON A KITTEN!!”
too all of the WHITE PEOPLE tha hate on kanye he is the truth.he speaks whats on hes mind, hes not afraid of wha white people think of him.
the world is in a bad enough shape already. people like u just add fuel to the fire. just becuz Obama is president doesnt give u the right to think or treat others like whites do. and trust me, i’ve lived in big cities before. I’ve seen how u blacks act. and I don’t blame them asians. maybe if u try to actually buy instead of stealing it or robbing the store maybe they’ll stop yelling “buy or get out.” there’s black people and there’s niggers in every race. and I believe u are no doubt a nigger
This inflated head on legs has once again proven that there isn only one way in his mind, his way.
Mr West, given your past performances (I can sing better and thats not saying much…which is why I stick to playing instruments) and your general behaviour, you should consider early retirement followed by a stint in a mental hopsital to have those narcisists tendencies evaluated.
I not sure about Taylor swift but I know that Beyonce, depsite all her potential (wasted) didn’t deserve that award more then anyone else.
I’m surprised Kanye West did not appear and interrupt the trophy presentation to Clijsters…yanking it out of her hands and saying that it should rightfully be Serena’s.
I have to say this guy has issues. He’s a genius at getting press for himself, although he sure doesn’t know how to do it the right way. He seems like a 3 year-old that has to push his friend out of the way to get the spotlight…quite sad actually. I agree with the comment that I think an early retirement might be needed- as a mental health professional he would be a great case to diagnose!
I think Jay Leno said it best when he asked K what his mother would think of his behavior…you can never go wrong with that question- it seems to go to the core even with the overly narcastic ones.
As one of my friends often says, “Is that what you want to be remembered for?” Kanye sure is making a name for himself- if I was him I would be embarassed of myself.
I admire the valued learning you recommend in your post. I will bookmark your blog and have my kid check up here regularly. I am quite sure they will learn a huge of new stuff here than anybody else!
